54% of facebook users in MENA are between 19 – 29 years old, 58% are male and 56% use English

In February 2010, the total number of facebook users in the Middle East and North Africa region reached 11,150,220 in an independent research conducted by jazarah.net, countries that were covered in this report are Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Egypt, Morocco, Jordan, Palestine, Lebanon, Tunisia, and Iraq.

Age Groups
54% of the total facebook users in the MENA region are between 19 – 29 years old, while 21% are between 30 – 45 years, 19% are teenagers, 4% are between 46 – 64, while users who are 65 years old and above form 2% of the total number of users.

Gender
While 5% of MENA facebook users didn’t define their gender in their profiles, 95% of the users defined their gender with 58% of the total users stated that they are male compared to 37% female.

Language
Although the main language in the MENA region is Arabic, only 20% of the users use it on facebook, compared to 56% of users who use English, and 21% who use French.

Relationships
62% of users didn’t define their relationship status on their facebook profiles, however 23% stated that they are single, 8% married, 5% in a relationship, and 2% engaged.

21.9% of female users stated that they are single compared to 23.7% of the total male users. 5% of female users are in relationships compared to 4.6% of the males, 2.2% are engaged compared to 1.45%, and 10% married compared to 7.25% of male users.

Education
88.69% of users didn’t define anything about their education, 9.39% stated that they are College Grads, while college and high school students are 1.92%.
