a call for Cyber Jihad against Nike!

Once in a while you hear or receive an e-mail about the grand conspiracy theory against Muslims, each product contains something against Islam in its name or ingredients, when Coca-Cola was founded more than 100 years ago, an evil team of Satan (marketing dude) and Lucifer (designer), came up with the Coca-Cola name and wrote it this way so when you flip the logo, it reads in Arabic (No Mecca, No Mohamed), as if this means anything! Not only that, they have a secret ingredient, which is extracted from Pigs stomach! Yes that’s the secret of Coke’s great taste, the Pigs! How many freakin’ bottles does Coca-Cola produce every year? How many pigs needed to maintain this great taste!

10 years ago, Nike launched a clothing line, with the word Air written in a way to look like a fire, Muslims raged against this new product cause the logo looked like the name of “Allah” in Arabic, which shouldn’t be placed on a pair of shoe, so Nike, immediately, took a decision that cost millions, and withdrew all shoes from stores, and kept the shirts and pants because it’s fine to have the name of Allah on it.

Today, and after 10 years, I receive this e-mail, a call for Jihad against Nike for putting the name of Allah on its shoes… thank god that we have alerted people, cause Nike decided to place the logo on the back of the shoe so no will notice, yea cause research shows that 94% of Muslims don’t check the back of the shoes when they buy it. Nike knows better about us!

Here is the e-mail:

This is what the ‘NIKE’ company did ….
‘NIKE’ company wrote the name of ‘ALLAH’ on the shoes & from the back so no one will notice this …….

IF YOU ARE A REAL MUSLIM YOU HAVE 2 FORWARD IT DON’T STOP ……

  • Ok, let’s not confuse things with each other, I’m not religious (at all).. but let’s keep two thing in mind, 1, is that (whether it’s politically correct to say or not), Zionist Jews control (or largely influencing) most of the big corporate.. and that’s no conspiracy theory, it’s a fact that that many knows from Hollywood entertainers to presidency candidates, 2, there was many times when things like this happened, in even more obvious way, where t-shirt where sold in Europe with a very insulting graphics such as Muslims praying to a naked girl, or a very offensive copywrite, so I wouldn’t be surprise if what Nike did was true, sure I don’t agree with the extra spices added by a very passionate religious guy, but that doesn’t mean we should ignore neither make fun of such thing, I’m atheist, sure, and I don’t believe in all this religious myth all together, but making fun of or deliberate insults to Islamic icons (same as the stupid Danish cartoons) is making fun of my culture, which is pure bigotry, which I defiantly can’t stand!

  • It worth making fun of, cause Muslims reaction toward such things makes it a hot topic, like the Danish cartoon, if we reacted probably it won’t be published and circulated every year.

This Nike issue happened 10 years ago, but why now? I searched the internet to see if it happened again, but didn’t find anything. Nike did this, I’m not denying, but if it was deliberate they won’t withdraw the product from the market.

I receive lots of similar e-mails, maybe because you are atheist, you don’t have friends who forward such e-mails.

Like the Coca-Cola logo thing, I mean who on earth saw it “No Mecca No Mohamed”? I mean when people in the west hear such stuff, they will consider us morons.

We have the right to rage against offensive things, I’m with that, but I’m against exaggeration, and imagining that everything was made against us.

  • Agree, as I said, “I don’t agree with the extra spices added by a very passionate religious guy”.. dealing with such things should be handled in a smart intelligent way, same as all our political and economical problems in this region.

  • :) so funny. Some people have no lives at all.

  • you know what i hate the most about pseudo-intellectual Arabs? they are so dumb it’s not possible to argue with them.

Few years ago, anthrax tainted letters created nation-wide panic in the US. the letters were signed by haters of American and Israel. When Arabs and Muslims protested and said the jews were behind it, people like Marzouk and others laughed at the conspiracy theory. After all, Marzouk and others are so smart they have all the answers despite lessons of history that show the opposite. Guess what? The FBI announced that a right-wing jewish scientist who committed suicide right before the Bureau closed in on him was responsible for the letters. Search google on Bruce Ivins, since i don’ think you are worth the link.

Few years ago, an assassination attempt on President Bush was foiled. The would-be assiain was a Muslim fanatic. The money for the rocket was facilitated by a NY Jewish financier. Both were arrested by the authorities in the US. Do a search on Yehuda Abraham,76, a New York City jeweler and Moinuddeen Ahmed Hameed of Malaysia.

The 911 Congressional Committee said that all evidence suggests that key people in the FBI had ample evidence of a terror plot but did not act on the evidence. the report offered no explanation since to do so would probably explain the dancing Israelis story. Again, do your own search.

And these three cases are a drop in the bucket.

If you are an Arab who is desperate to look smart, start by not saying dumb things that go against official findings. Unless if you think the FBI and the Secret Service and The 911 Congressionanl Fact committe are all conspiricty theorists and you are the smart one. If so, chances are it’s the opposite.

  • It’s a good thing you warned me.
*goes to throw all his nike shoes, and clothes away!*

    NOT :)

Seriously, I don’t think a corporation would do this deliberately and with the knowledge of management since a corporation has one main goal, making profit, and this would be counter-productive.

I agree with Ghassan that the cartoons are insulting, but I strongly disagree with the reactions of many Muslim communities which included boycotting the entire country in which they were published.

There’s a difference between something being rude and insulting and it being illegal. The cartoonist may not be a nice guy, but he didn’t break any laws. Nor should any such laws exist. The law should only protect freedom of practicing a religion and even then in as much as it doesn’t impinge on the freedom of the majority of the population. It should not enforce the religion directly.

  • Coke doesn’t taste great! Anyway, even if the e-mails are stupid, and even though the accusations are ridiculous, ma bansor el ghareeb 3la eben 3ammi. So especially Coke can kiss my arabic butt. I don’t support American corporations to begin with, and not for religious purposes (but for political ones).

  • no one is saying support American companies, but let’s forget the illusion we are living in, and start focusing on more dangerous stuff, like things that Grafaan mentioned.

  • maybe some Saudi cleric will issue a fatwah calling for Michael Jordan’s death… if they already haven’t. who knows.

  • ok intentional or not u gotta admit the resemblance is there .. coincidence?

  • Nike & Islamic pettifoggery

Nike Inc. Tuesday let the other shoe drop in a public affairs snafu festering for three months, agreeing to recall a line of shoes with a logo that a Muslim group found offensive.

The logo, meant to look like flames, resembles the word “Allah” in Arabic script. Shoes bearing the flame have been sold this summer under the names Air Bakin’, Air Melt, Air Grill and Air B-Que.
    — Harrington, Jeff. Nike recalls disputed logo. The Cincinnati Enquirer [Internet]. 1997 Jun 25 [cited 2004 Dec 11]

If Islam worked, you wouldn’t be upset that Nike, the billion dollar sneaker company, made a logo that was written in stylized English letter “Air,” that resembles the word of your god, Allah in the Arabic script (photo). The problem is that Arabs don’t know the English script, so when they see something that looks like Arabic calligraphy they go crazy.

. . . If you allow the name Allah to be printed on t-shirts, why not on sneakers? You can’t literally walk on Allah, it’s just a name. If your excuse is dirt can get on it, and it’s too close to the feet, dirt can definitely get on t-shirts too. The have Allah on jewelry and on their prayer rugs that you put your feet on. So what’s the big difference between wearing the script of the name Allah on your and stepping on a prayer rug five times a day, that has Allah and or his other names written on it?

  • I totally disagree with the nike logo it is plain and obvious that it says the word allah, and i am not suprised that muslims around the world are outraged by this.So if nike do not make as much profit from their sports shoes it won’t be because of the cost of living it will be for this reason………………………….

  • Tariq do you honestly know what you are on about. You stupid idiot even if we do have allah written on our t-shirts.we hold the qura’an close to our chest but we do not put it under our feet or on our feet. (allah forgive me for what i have just said:but it is the only way we can get through to people like tariq)WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU????????????????
PEOPLE LIKE YOU MAKE MY BLOOD BOIL

  • YOU STUPID IDIOOOOTTTTSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wHY NIKE WHY YOU THICK IDIOOTS

  • nike have no right to insult any religion. christians wouldn’t put the crucifix on their feet or under their feet.I agree with tahira<<<<<<<<

  • how did they ever notice in the first place? if you’re a muslim, why would you be wasting your time studying the back of a shoe instead of praying? are you not making a mockery out of your own religion? are you not encouraging people to laugh at you?

you’re just showing non-muslims how paranoia can get the most of you.. to the extent that you test nike’s capabilities and declare it as “offensive”? and now that nike withdrew it, you take it to the next level and declare that “coke has a ‘secret ingredient’ with some part of a pig’s stomach”? wow… so much for a secret eh… and not only that, i get these utterly obnoxious mails about some chocolates and some food having some part of pigs… i mean doesn’t your intention matter anymore?

whatever it is.. (if ever there IS anything in the first place) that they’re trying to throw at us, do we have to get carried away? as long as our intentions are clean, i believe there’s no reason for us to be running around like headless chickens.

and yes, i am a muslim.

I can’t understand why this stuff is still being talked about when it was resolved 10 years ago.

  • Assalam-o-Alaikum,

What should I say here? but one this is sure that the more they press or degrade Islam, higher it emerges and greater it attracts people. They do not know, may be, the Aa’yah from Holy Qura’n whereby Almighty Allah says, meaning (They plan, Allah too plans and Allah is the best planner). You should see this Aa’yah in the context that such conspiracies of non-Muslims which they hatchet to hurt the Muslims’ feelings, they forget that they appeal more people towards mulling over the teachings of Islam which ultimately results in more and more people coming and embracing Islam.

It is the trap, which they dig to find Muslims caught in them but instead, unintentionally, invite people to ponder Islam and it is noted largely that people get convinced and come into the fold of Islam.

The same thing happened amid the aftermath of 9/11 – the conspiracy to find a way to attack Muslims in Afghanistan, Iraq and Pakistan by blaming the Muslims but it resulted many more US citizens to study Islam who were never much interested in Islam however, they vigorously study Islam and turned Muslims – many reports in US confirm this claim.

But I think, yet, its our responsibility to condemn such evil actions of non-Muslims so that there can be at least uproar which does not let the incident go away unnoticed.

  • ” ITS NOT ALLAH ITS AIR. ” its really idiotic to mix the word Air with Allah. The Arabic words start from right to left, its opposite for english language.
