I wonder, do people working in Al Ghad newspaper have any access to the internet? Do they conduct enough research before they write the paper? I noticed this piece of news in yesterday’s edition of Al Ghad, it’s about American sitcom 30 Rock’s Emmy nominations, the stupid thing about it is the translation.
30 Rock, or 30 Rockefeller Plaza, is the address of GE Building in New York, this building contains NBC Studios where the show 30 Rock takes place, so it doesn’t have anything to do with rocks and stones, as our friends in Al Ghad thought! Although I know these information because I like the show, I did a small research before writing this post
Traditional media people always take on blogs for the lack of credibility, because they think bloggers are not experts enough to conduct enough research to back their information. I recall a story in the same newspaper about a living doll that turned to be a nonsense, one of the bloggers made fuss about it, I don’t remember who, but it shows that a high-end daily newspaper like Al-Ghad could be inaccurate like this.
This is a goodwill post for a newspaper I like and admire

I hate that about newspapers in jordan, They write false information and translate wrong, There whole way is CRAP, They need to hire someone specialized in translating and getting information from the internet, I thought since it’s launch that al ghad newspaper will be more modern and better, But obviously all they care about is MONEY, And to back up my accusations, Pepsi is sponsoring the 7AYATONA section, As every section in the newspaper has a sponser, I say no respected newspaper agrees on letting companies sponsoring there sections.
I agree Ali, but media need the money to cover the running cost, and eventually score profits just like any other business.
Dude they score thousands of dinars every single week from the ads inside, Ads from zain, Orange, And Umniah should be enough, Believe me they need PEPSI covering half of the front page of 7AYATONA section.
haha…
u seemed to miss out on تشريح جراي and most importantly عائلة جاي –> it took me a while to realize they meant Family Guy….
yea u r right Tamara! they decided not to translate “guy”
