Last week Research in Motion celebrated the launch of the much-awaited BlackBerry PlayBook in the Middle East, the 7-inch tablet is expected to hit the stores in the UAE and Saudi Arabia on June 12th, 2011, with the rest of the region to follow.
According to RIM, the PlayBook offers an amplified BlackBerry experience through its 1024×600 multi-touch screen, the tablet is powered by a 1 GHz dual-core processor and enjoys 1 GB of RAM. The user experience at the PlayBook is backed by full Adobe Flash support, offering the users a full web experience with a built-in support for the HTML5.
We met Mr. Mohammed Al-Mefleh, Director of Product Management at RIM Middle East, during the Meet the PlayBook with Adobe Day last week in Dubai, he was generous enough to take us through this demo of the PlayBook and to answer some of our questions, I’d like to quote him: “Think about the PlayBook as rather than bringing the internet to the PlayBook, but taking the PlayBook to the internet and to utilize all the rich Flash applications exciting there.”
