Competition promotes Environmental and Health awareness among kids in the MENA Region
Dubai, UAE – 26 March 2012: Cartoon Network Arabic channel announced today the launch of ‘Creative Generation Competition 2012,’ designed to promote environmental and health awareness for students. The competition is to encourage students from ages 4 to 12 to indulge in their imagination and creativity, promoting a healthy vibrant environment.
In line with Cartoon Network Arabic’s ambitions in having an active role in educating children in a fun and creative manner, the competition was launched on their channel as well as online (www.CartoonNetworkArabic.com) encouraging all kids to take part. In addition, the campaign will be supported through school visits across Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and Qatar. The aim of these visits is to speak to students on the importance of fitness and the environment and to encourage them to unleash their creativity and take part in this competition.
“One of the main goals of this program is to highlight to students the importance of health and the environment through a fun and entertaining activity that they will enjoy. Our long term ambition is to grow Creative Generation into an annual event that students, and their teachers, look forward to every year,” said Alan Musa, Vice President and General Manager for the Middle East-Africa region.
Cartoon Network Arabic’s commitment to educating children in an entertaining way continues with the recent acquisition of the hit show ‘Lazy Town.’ Lazy Town positively engages children and families in choosing a healthy lifestyle, and will be airing soon on the preschool block, ‘Cartoonito’, in addition to ‘Bananas in Pyjamas’ and ‘Jelly Jamm’.
‘Creative Generation’ is open to all students within the Middle East and North Africa regions. They can participate by entering their stories, written and drawn, portraying Cartoon Network as a world where anything is possible and anything can happen. The themes are divided into ‘health & fitness’ for children from 4 to 8 years old, and ‘environment’ for children from 9 to 12 years old.
The ‘Creative Generation’ competition takes place from March 24th to May 1st in selected schools in addition to online, with winners being announced in May 2012.
