POSITION SUMMARY
Manage organization’s corporate communications. The holder of this role is responsible for all direct reports of managers in charge of media activities, crisis communication, and internal efforts. They need to ensure media efforts are in line with the corporate strategy and in-support of organization’s marketing efforts. This is a Media Specialist who will provide proactive and market-driven leadership in the creation of major communications initiatives required by the corporation to reach its goals
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Developing and delivering media strategy plans by working closely with brand and marketing
• Ensuring all work procedures is according to strategy and following the branding guidelines
• Establishing and maintaining good working relationship with all media
• Building, exploiting and influencing effective networks at all levels of the organization and to be assertive in pursuing and delivering the organization’s agenda
• Verifying and approving material prior to publication to ensure appropriateness for Qatari customs and culture
• Managing the content and the layout of the publication of the monthly magazine
• Ensuring that all media plans supports brand ambitions and drives organization strategy forward
• Influencing and shaping the media agenda proactively
• Planning and monitoring section budgets
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of media systems, media tools and technologies.
• Maintaining a good knowledge of a wide universe of media outlets and capacity to expand into new media areas with ease
• Providing senior management with analysis on current process and assist in suggesting future developments.
Requirements
Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Media Studies, Journalism or equivalent education
Experience: Extensive experience in corporate communications in a senior management role with proven track record in developing and implementing strategic communications plan for a large organization preferably in the healthcare industry.
