If you work in an advertising agency you must hate the timesheet, it’s company’s idea to monitor the staff. Personally I find it really annoying to report every minute of your day to the management, feels like an investigation.
There are so many ways to know employees were up to throughout the day, and how long each job took each one of them. Let that annoying-pain-in-the-ass-little-girl you call traffic officer or sergeant or something to monitor this issue, she knows when she sent out the brief and when the job was done, she is part of loop from the beginning.

9 minutes for a leak? I understand why girls take up to 9 minutes for a ”leak” but not when guys take that long
LOL, I love the double faced personality you have, faking laughter at a silly joke and then make fun of the situation with someone else, I really do know how that feels
25 minutes for a sh**? ok… i guess some people just like to take their time
LOL at the last one
I used to love my job when it was a task-based one! you forgot about telephones and mobiles man, don’t you do that?
u r a copywriter? very cool!
eeeh donia
Nizar, my office is at the 2nd floor, the toilet is at grand floor, and most of the time you have to wait a little bit
And when you have an idiot who thinks that he is funny, you have to be nice
Hamzeh, that I forgot
7abeebak, it’s not that cool
oooooofffff my agency just introduced detailed timesheets on a software (previously it was a basic excel sheet just showing hrs dedicatd to which client)….it sux….I mean i really dont have time to fill a timesheet! its more than enough that we spend crazy hrs working…now they need to treat us like prisoners and have us document every minute!! hehe
It’s so awful Secret Window, it feels like a prison.
So, are the creative briefs really briefs or are they more like boxer briefs
. Sorry, couldn’t help myself. I’m so glad I’m not in the world of timesheets anymore… Here’s not envying you
.
Hahaha, that’s so funny!
Time sheets are boring, that’s a fact. But i feel more sorry for the agency that’s paying you money to be a copywriter. Work is not a joke, you act like a kid you get treated like won, you act like a pro you get treated like a king. I’m suprised people want to get high salaries and do little work, there is no room in the world for parasites.
That’s my two cents…
good 4 u MommaBean!
and lol for that one
thanx Sel3
LiquidIce, thanx for sharing ur brilliant insights, although I didn’t really get it, but thanx anyway!
Samer your sick, I FEEL SORRY FOR YOU
Hehehe… i like the filling… but seems that Mr. or Ms. LiquidIce is an owner or a top manager at that world…No body works little in an agency… people usually work & put an effort that is triple what they paid “Min”
I used to be one… and used to go home 11:00 pm and yet I had to fill in the shitty time sheet but barley done that… maybe occasionally, Thursday “the end of the week”
& never shared such defiles….! I wish if I did so!!! Creative filling
Nice blog Samer
But seriously you know that time sheets have nothing to do with policing you right? When you fill out a time sheet and you show that you worked every single minute of every single day you also know that no one believes it right?
Time sheets are used for costing analysis. They help an agency determine if they are charging the client correctly and they also go to the client in many cases who is paying the agency a monthly fee based on the number of efficient hours you work.
I know how tough it is for creatives to step away from their work and fill out a time sheet, but trust me at the end of the day its a real big part of what pays your salary… You know that internationally some agencies have now adopted systems where you cant even access your desktop unless you enter a job number and it starts to count the number of hours it takes you to complete a job automatically, and for example if your job is for the design of a business card and the system estimates that its a four hour job, it will shut down on you after 4 hours…We all know that the time sheet is the enemy of the creative department, but its one of the best friends of the agency…
thanx amre for the nice comment, and I really liked that automatic system, it’s a brilliant way to manage the timesheets.
