Dubai Lynx Announces First Shortlist

Print, Outdoor, Direct, Promo & Activation, Media, Radio, Design, Interactive, Film, Mobile, PR, Film Craft and Print & Poster Craft categories

5 March 2012 – Dubai Lynx, the leading creative advertising competition for the Middle East & North Africa has announced the shortlists for 13 out of its 14 entry categories: Print, Outdoor, Direct, Promo & Activation, Media, Radio, Design, Interactive, Film, Mobile, PR, Film Craft and Print & Poster Craft. From these categories, the jury have shortlisted a total of 438 entries.

The following number of entries has been shortlisted in each category:

Design – 20

Film – 64

Film Craft – 30

Interactive – 19

Media – 67

Mobile – 1

Outdoor – 50

PR – 16

Print – 72

Print & Poster Craft – 38

Promo & Activation – 20

Radio – 21

34 international jury members are currently convening in Dubai to judge the 2,037 entries submitted into this year’s awards. After reaching their shortlists they are now debating to decide and award the winners of this year’s Dubai Lynx Awards.

Yesterday, the Festival kicked off with an exclusive screening of THE 99: Unbound, which featured a Q&A session with the creator, Dr Naif Al-Mutawa. Delegates also heard seminars from thenetworkone and The Guardian, who followed theirs with networking drinks. Matias Palm-Jensen started today’s programme talking about the ‘Truth in Advertising’, while further seminars have come from Initiative, Impact Porter Novelli and TBWA/Worldwide. This afternoon, VivaKi will hold a seminar on ‘How Creativity Changes’ and follows it with the VivaKi Networking Evening, exclusively for Dubai Lynx delegates.

Delegates can also view the region’s best work in the shortlist exhibitions as well as a selection of the winning work from the Cannes Lions, Eurobest and Spikes Asia Festivals.

Launched this year, the Young Marketers School is now fully underway as is the Lynx Academy. Both benefit from their own tailored programmes as well as gaining valuable experience and knowledge from the Festival’s content. Their experiences will culminate in their own dedicated graduation ceremonies on Tuesday 6 March.
