Plans, directs, and coordinates the online marketing of an organization’s products and/or services by performing the following duties:
• Establishes online marketing goals to ensure share of market and profitability of products and/or services.
• Develops and executes online marketing plans and programs, including Web site development and utilization, and establishes and maintains the company’s presence in mailing lists and newsgroups.
• Works closely with graphic artists, writers, and Web developers in the design and usability of the Web site.
• Researches, analyzes, and monitors financial, technological, and demographic factors in order to capitalize on market opportunities and minimize the effects of competitive activity.
• Plans and oversees the organization’s advertising and promotion activities specifically linked to its Web presence, such as contests, tours, and seminars.
• Communicates with outside advertising agencies on ongoing Web-based campaigns.
• Develops and recommends online commerce strategy for the organization which will result in the greatest share of the market over the long run.
• Achieves satisfactory profit/loss ratio and share of market performance in relation to pre-set standards and to general and specific trends within the industry and the economy.
• Evaluates market reactions to advertising programs, merchandising policy, and product packaging and formulation to ensure the timely adjustment of marketing strategy and plans to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
• Conducts marketing surveys and focus groups on current and new product concepts.
• Prepares online marketing activity reports.
• Attends online conferences and seminars.
