The European press is wondering if the West should abandon the idea of “Liberal Press” and accept the fact that Islam is a forbidden subject to talk about. After the cartoons-incident few months ago, the world is witnessing a new clash caused by a statement taken of a speech by the POP.
Some newspapers blamed the POP for ruining what the past POP, John Paul II had achieved and said that he is slipping over and over which might lead to a belief that this is not accidental and reveal his mind.
On the other hand some newspapers warned of an Islamic-Supervision on articulation in the west pointing at the growing role played by radicals among Muslims leading the majority to a global disaster. A French journal warned of not supporting the POP while he is facing the extremism specially the Islamic.
The indirect regret expressed by the POP was not satisfactory to Muslims across the world but it was described by a European newspaper as a new thing in a Church that is ruled by the principle “Roma has spoken, the case is closed”.
I believe that Dialogue of Religions and Cultures led us to this conflict, why can’t everybody all over the world what ever the religion they believe in, just mind their own business, believe in a religion, pray and do the rest of rituals and avoid the interference in others.

It’s about freedom. Why would others be bothered by the way i worship Allah? They are stronger than us, and that’s why they think they have the right to critisize and attack…
I guess it is a matter of strength and control and as you said they are stronger.
Mais, is it more about someone’s freedom to criticise a religion or someone else’s freedom to have their religion uncriticised?
The Western press has freely and vehemently criticised Christianity since there was a free press. Religion is as much fair game to them as politics.
I don’t agree with the Pope’s comments or consider him my authority as a Christian, but I prefer a future as it is now where we can both speak our opinion, as I fear that if ‘you’ become stronger than ‘us’, I certainly won’t be able to speak mine.
Well, i don’t call humiliation criticizm
The thing kinzi is that if someone criticize someone else’s religion it will cause a problem, if a Muslim said that it will be our problem and Christians won’t have anything o do with it.
I’ve never found any media in the Arab world criticizes Christianity or Jesus but on the other hand western media attack Islam and our prophet (PBUH), western countries even host Muslims who attack Islam and support them to speak-out loud such Salman Rushdie.
As I said before the best solution is that we all mind our own business and never insult others.
Well, I guess the media just doesn’t know what to do with people who actually believe in something, whether Christian or Muslim.
May we all handle our humiliation and criticism with humility and honest introspection.
Samer, please check out the MEMRI site, I’ll let you know when these kind of articles come out.
Thank you kinzi, I will be looking forward to
