Forefront Technology, a Dubai based major IT Distribution operation with primary focus on Document Imaging Hardware and Storage Industry’s Systems and Solutions, today announced the launch of three new document imaging products for the first time in the Middle East, during GITEX 2012.

  • The Kodak -KODAK SCANMATE i940 Scanner
  • The Kodak upgrade of the Capture Pro Software from V3.1 to V4.0.
  • ScanRobot® 2.0 MDS from TREVENTUS Mechatronics GmbH

Fujitsu subsidiary PFU Imaging Solutions Europe released the new accelerated ScanSnap S1300i taking its Scan-to-Mobile and Scan-to-Cloud strategies to the next level. Having introduced Scan-to-iPhone/iPad functionalities as first vendor last November, PFU now also offers Android users the opportunity to transfer documents directly to their Android smart-phones and tablet devices; at the touch of a single button with new Scan-to-Cloud function in the ScanSnap Quick Menu documents are delivered directly to cloud services such as Evernote, Google Docs, Salesforce, SugarSync and to the popular Dropbox cloud service. The ScanSnap S1300i scans up to 50% faster than its predecessor model at 12 pages per minute (A4 color, 150dpi, both sides) and can be powered either via USB cabling for mobile use or with AC power.

”With the introduction of the Fujitsu ScanSnap S1300i, Fujitsu once again raises the bar. They have reached a major milestone in their quest to make paper-based information available anywhere and to any application, in the most time efficient way”, explains Johni R. Jabbor, Regional Sales Manager at Forefront Technologies.

Kodak was not silent as well this year; the company introduced several hardware and software based solutions, such as the powerful, portable and productive -Kodak’s latest innovation in desktop document capture—the KODAK SCANMATE i940 Scanner. The compact, cloud-connected scanner quickly and simply converts paper documents into dynamic digital files for distribution and sharing. The Easy-to-use features make it a perfect fit for the business professional in the office or on the go. The SCANMATE i940 Scanner comes standard with smart options that make it easy for users to collect, digitize and upload content into systems that can manage it more efficiently. It is a convenient option for either office use or business travel thanks to a lightweight, space-saving design.

Later in 2012 the i940M Scanner will debut as the first KODAK Scanner to offer MAC OS compatibility.

Arabic Interface and Arabic Optical Character Recognition (OCR), Double Data Entry indexing and automated image enhancement tools are among the latest features of the newest version of KODAK Capture Pro Software. Advanced capabilities of Capture Pro Software v4.0 build upon Kodak’s award-winning image capture platform and enable businesses to ensure even greater accuracy, efficiency and cost-effectiveness within their document-based processes. The software fits easily into departmental, production batch and transaction-level workflows for a wide range of applications such as accounts receivable, claims processing and back-file conversion.

The ScanRobot® 2.0 MDS from Treventus is a high-speed mass digitization system (MDS) designed for large volume digitization of any bound material. This automatic book scanner significantly increases the net throughput and lowers the overall costs of your digitization projects. The ScanRobot 2.0 MDS’s mechanical unit includes a 60° wooden book cradle for the most gentle book handling with no requirements of any clamps nor glass plates. It provides a constant scan quality and resolution from the first to the last page of any book, no matter how thick it is.

‘With a speed of up to 2500 pages per hour and an automatic page turning with process monitoring (double sheet control), the Treventus ScanRobot 2.0MDS is surely going to capture the Document Imaging Solution world,’ stated Johni R. Jabbor, Regional Sales Manager at Forefront Technologies. Forefront Technologies will be demonstrating this new technology during GITEX 2012.
