The BLIKKIESDORP 4 HOPE is an organization is aims to restore hope in the Blikkiesdorp, a relocation camp in Cape Town that faces a lot of challenges, including hygiene. South Africa is ranked as one of lowest hygiene countries in the world by WHO, and the main victim of such issues are children.
According to health experts, handwashing is extremely important as it can prevent diseases from spreading across, I couldn’t agree more, and we all take it for granted, at least most of us, but if you are a child in a poor area like the Blikkiesdorp, you can’t afford this luxury, you won’t even think about.
To encourage children to wash their hands, BLIKKIESDORP 4 HOPE introduced the Hope Soap – soap with toys inside, the idea is to reward children for washing their hands, the campaign received 2 Silver Lions at this year’s Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.
The campaign was created by Y&R South Africa and The Creative Lab, and I believe it’s a great idea!
