Communications Manager | Dubai

Responsibilities include media monitoring, planning calendars, and research. The successful candidate will be able to work under tight deadlines, effectively able to multi-task, and be a team player.

Key result areas in Communications & PR:
• Media planning functions as required by communication management.
• Manage & conduct issue and media research
• Play a lead role on department’s survey design, data collection, analysis and associated action planning activities.
• Gathers and assembles background information and analyze in development of media plans, documents, and presentations.
• Serve as interfacing contact point to media representatives, gathering any information required, and referring them to the communication management as need be.
• Monitor email alerts and media advisories. Participate in meetings with media representatives when requested by the line manager.
• Establishes and maintains goodwill and strong working relationships with media contacts.
• Monitor media coverage.
• Is aware of the organization activities to provide back up when the primary media contact is unavailable.
• Strategize media and promotion plans for local as well as international markets
• Quality control on news releases, background materials and other documents.
• Calendar management of events: Maintain and monitor implementation of events/release planning calendar
• Manage distribution of departmental communications.
• Coordinate and ensure timely electronic distribution of news releases, media advisories, email alerts and other materials, including posting of releases and briefing materials on web, including online promotional material through e-newsletters & e-marketing campaigns. Maintains website content and design insuring accuracy, consistency and quality.
• Develop and maintain media lists, manage media inquiries and make media calls
• Delegate to appropriate subordinate staff to handles paperwork and maintain digital and hard copy files on all organization’s activities maintain correspondence files, including approvals, copy, forms/documents, supplies for daily processing and tracking media planning and buying work, etc.; maintain accurate records of all media purchases and contracts for easy reference.
• Ensures all media projects proceed according to plan and on deadline, drawing attention of the communication management to potential problems before they occur
• Monitor and control promotional material usage and appropriate archiving
• Collaborate with marketing, design, PR and advertising agencies for the implementation of integrated marketing communications Plan.
• Establish systems for managing and monitoring advertising agencies media and service providers for marketing communications etc. Interface with advertising agency to ensure adverts developed on time and within design guidelines, track and monitor placement of adverts.
• Implement other related duties and responsibilities as required.
• Provide team leadership and support to subordinate staff.

Skills:
• Creative self-starter who is adept at managing various competing deadlines whilst managing communication projects from inception through to completion.
• HR & people management skills.
• Must be “hands on” with an eye for detail and a genuine interest in actively sourcing opportunities to develop and improve all facets of corporate communication.
- Problem-solving and communication skills with experience working with cross functional teams.
