Head of Communication | Doha, Qatar

Our client, a world renowned liquefied gas transport company is currently seeking a, Head of Communications to be based in Qatar.Basic Function and Scope Plans, assesses and contributes to the development and implementation of Nakilat's overall corporate communication strategy and programs to achieve the Company's (internal and external) communications goals and objectives.Tasks and Duties a Plans and develops initiatives which builds the company's image as the world's leading LNG transportation company. b. Develops, recommends and implements corporate strategies and plans to identify, improve and sustain a consistent corporate image (to be coordinated and conveyed in all departments) in all communications to all the stakeholders, partners and audiences. c. Oversees and monitors all dealings and relationships with local and international media (print, broadcasting and television) to ensure that the company's actions and messages are reported consistent with the Company's intention and image. d. Identifies and influences opinion leaders within government bodies, local authorities and public establishments in order to ensure that the communications requirements are fully understood and considered by those bodies in their dealings with the Company. Includes identifying and meeting opinion leaders and officials controlling government procedures, discussing the company's role in the State of Qatar together with the extent of general mutual or unilateral assistance required by either party and advises Public Relations Manager as appropriate. e. Writes and reviews all press and media statements, interview articles and public speeches issued in the name of the company to ensure their accuracy and consistency with overall Company image. f. Supports Public Relations Manager in preparing annual and 5 year Budget, and department objectives. Once approved and authorized monitors and reports on variances against Budget.g. Determines editorial policy and production deadlines for company publications and ensures the themes of the articles are suitable.h. Builds and sustains effective working relationships with the media, shareholders and sister companies

Skills
Minimum Requirements a. B.A. in JournalismMedia Communications or equivalent. b. 8+ years experience in Public Relations in the gas or oil industry.c. Fluency in English and Arabic language.d. Proficiency in the use of various computer packages such as Microsoft word, Freelance, Harvard Graphics, Excel, Accessd Base and specialist Graphics Design packages.
