PR Communications Manager | Dubai

My client is a large software solution provider and distributor for the Travel industry. They sell software solutions to travel business across the UAE.
Currently they are looking to recruit a PR Communication Manager to join their Marketing Team.
This manager role provides leadership and day to day support for the Communications in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region in line with corporate priorities and in full support of regional objectives. The core responsibility is to increase awareness of, and preference for the companies software solutions, via proactive, managed communications. The job holder will work closely with the director of EMEA corporate communications to devise, manage and execute a regional communications programme, with an initial emphasis on facilitation of local media relations.

Main Responsibilities:
Provide expert, ongoing Communications consultancy and support to the company’s GDS MEA management team, particularly the regional Managing Director.
Manage and execute a targeted, proactive media relations and PR programme in support of corporate and regional business/marketing objectives, leveraging all relevant news opportunities.
Act as the lead media representative for the region, facilitating productive relationships between the Company’s GDS spokespeople and targeted media outlets.
Deliver crisis communications and issues management support for the region.
Establish close working relationships with regional and country business and marketing teams to create a “virtual communications network”.
Manage appropriate region-wide and in-country PR consultancy services to enable execution and inform strategy.
Contribute as a member of the worldwide Communications and regional management teams, sharing functional/regional knowledge and expertise and providing regular reporting, analysis and input regarding regional activities.
In collaboration with colleagues from across the business, contribute to the development of an integrated regional Communications programme, incorporating media relations, employee communication and CSR (corporate social responsibility programmes).
Any other duties that may reasonably be required.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Graduate or equivalently qualified by experience.
Minimum of 3-4 years experience in a PR management role (in-house or agency); a Marketing management role with a significant Communications element or a travel journalism role.
Experience of working in the MEA region, preferably in the context of a Global organisation.
Relevant experience in the business-to-business travel/services sector preferred.
Fluent in English; Arabic preferable
Ability to plan, manage and develop corporate brand, image, and public relations programs in order to raise public awareness of the company and safeguard reputation.
Demonstrated track record of conducting successful, proactive communications programmes that employ creativity and use of a variety of tools, forums, and media.
Experience of crisis management.
Ability to interface with all levels of employees and management as well as with outside agencies.
Ability to work well under pressure and enjoy a fast-paced, unpredictable environment.
Ability to assimilate a large volume of incoming requests for support, prioritise and manage expectations.
Ability to work effectively and efficiently in cross-functional teams.
Superior business writing and editing skills.
Strong project management skills.
Excellent interpersonal and verbal skills.
Motivational and persuasion skills.
