Regional Media Relations Manager | Manama
MAIN MISSION
To manage relationships with the media across the region, especially in UAE; to ensure maximum positive coverage and minimum negative coverage.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Management (25%)
Creation, implementation, and reporting of media plan and budget
Manage the daily work of the Media Relations Coordinator (KSA, Kuwait, and Qatar)
Annual media audits and analysis reports
Implement spokesperson media training
Feed information to Head of Communications on competition and market trends
Media Events (25%)
Oversee the organisation of business media events. (e.g. Press conferences, media briefings, interviews etc) and social media events (e.g. iftars), across the region, especially in UAE and Bahrain
Ensure media presence in key social events (e.g F1, R. Garros & other regional events)
Manage sponsorships (e.g. Arab Media Forum) and network with media in key industry events where media is present.
Media Relations & Coverage (40%)
Manage media relations across the region, especially in UAE
Maximize positive media coverage, minimise negative coverage, and ensure visibility across the region through release distribution, interviews, events, management visitations, etc, especially in UAE
Increase visibility in global media by arranging interviews with international media.
Admin (10%)
Media gifts, greetings, etc.
Weekly media report (Interview, release, and coverage analysis)
Coordinate with Communications coordinator to ensure news delivery and effective monitoring.
COMPETENCIES
General Profile: Client or PR agency Media Relations Manager, Current or Ex Journalist.
Languages: Fluency in English and Arabic
Education: Degree in Journalism, Media, Marketing, PR, or Communications
Solid media relations experience.
Experience:
Proven experience in working with the media and organising press conferences, media tours, interviews, etc.
Good contacts with business media across the GCC, with preference to KSA and UAE
Key skills required: Media Relations and Events Management.
