Our client, a global FMCG multinational, currently seeks a Trade Marketing Manager to join their expanding regional team. This is a phenomenal opportunity for a senior trade marketing and/ or business development FMCG professional to elevate their career into a top FMCG multinational organization where you have responsibility for the successful implementation of a multi-million dollar budget through various trade programs in Saudi Arabia, the largest market within the Middle East.

Based in Riyadh, with a dual reporting line into the GM for Saudi and the Sales Director, you will be seconded during the term of this 2-3 year assignment to an extremely professional third party agency fully dedicated to the trade activation of our brands in Saudi Arabia. Your overall objective in this role will be to pro-actively analyze the effectiveness of past and current trade programs, and ensure best practices are shared by the entire team, then embedded into future trade initiatives.

You will develop tailored channel strategies, enhance existing initiatives to secure leadership brand position across all trade channels in terms of availability; visibility and merchandising standards and ensure superior in-store presence through best-in-class execution. Your total team size will be over 80 people who you will work with to maximise brand visibility through optimised merchandising programs and smarter use of the current 8 to 10 million dollar budget that you will manage.

You will work closely with the Regional Trade Marketing team, the Saudi Arabia Marketing Manager and the above mentioned Agency to establish Channel-specific quarterly business plans and translate them into detailed implementation plans (incl. budgets, call cards, KPIs …).

You will drive successful execution of all trade programs by organizing the relevant training / re-training / coaching sessions of the field staff, by coordinating the preparation of all relevant trade materials, by conducting spot checks and by supervising critical negotiations with relevant business partners (esp. marketing and promotion agencies, Key Accounts, wholesalers …)

In order to succeed in this senior Trade Marketing / Business Development position, there are a few must-haves. You will be degree educated and must be a professional passionate about trade, with particular interest in and knowledge of traditional trade (bakallahs, wholesale, independent cash van), ideally of Saudi Arabia. You will have successfully managed resources / budgets with a high degree of autonomy for at least 3-4 years. You will not just have demonstrated strong execution capabilities, but also the ability to analyze, to influence entire organizations, and to develop field staff. We are looking for someone who is at least 28 years old, and up to 40 years old, and the grade of this role depends on the candidate. Those with GCC and Saudi experience are preferred, as well as Arabic speakers, although all are invited to apply.
