When you do a promotion you are trying to convince the audience to test your product/service in order to boost your sales; you are trying to change their consumption habits.
This is not a marketing lesson but I guess what happened in Tunisia during Valentines Day is a lesson for all marketers in the Arab world to learn – Sex Sells.
Sex Sells is a very efficient sales & marketing method, it works like magic as long as it wasn’t phony or artificial, at least that what I do believe. I was reading about a weird promotion in Tunisia where you get a free meal if you kissed your girlfriend/wife in public.
I found it odd and abnormal, why can’t we be natural? If kissing in public is not common in a country why do we encourage it this way? I don’t think that any restaurant/café in Europe or USA would do something like this, obviously because kissing is normal there.
I found it one step close to prostitution; kiss her in public and get a free meal, next time have sex in the street and get one free night at a hotel, dozen of condoms and a porn movie where you star in.
