Mecca Street crumbles beneath a car | Special report

Posted by Samer Marzouq

Again with awful streets of Amman, last night part of Mecca street crumbled underneath a taxi car but thank god no injuries happened. The cab driver told me that when he turned right from Mecca street all of the sudden the street crumbled down and the car got stuck in a deep whole which caused lots of major damages to the car.

When I reached the location, AlMoghrabi – the cab driver (he refused to run a video interview with him) was standing in the cold weather for an hour waiting for the police or traffic department to show up and examine the situation.

Streets of Amman are just awful, you can’t find one good street in the entire city, you will experience holes with different sizes and shapes that you can’t run away from, the whole car driving/riding experience in Amman is disturbing and will certainly destroy your car. The municipality promised more than once to resolve this issue, but even with the newly asphalted streets the problem remains.
Who will compensate this cab driver?
