• A multi-skilled technical operator able to work competently in the following areas: Ingest, Archive and Media Management
• To ensure that media is reliably ingested from tape and recorded from studio and external sources in accordance with TWOFOUR54’s standards and practices.
• Ensuring that media is effectively catalogued and has the correct metadata attached.
• QC and review of content.
• Play-out of media from server to tape.
• Transcoding of media.
• Generation of proxy browse copies
• Management of media and metadata, in online, and if necessary tape-based, digital content environments
• Working in close co-operation with the Studio, – Post Production, – Engineering and Bookings teams to ensure that TWOFOUR54 clients experience the highest levels of satisfaction.
• Any other reasonable duties required by the management
Skills
• Experience in professional, medium to large studio and post production environment.
• Clear understanding of file based workflows
• Excellent knowledge of the standards for the cataloguing, archiving and storage of file based media.
• Basic knowledge of tape management applications and databases
• Ability to communicate clearly with clients and colleagues.
• Understanding of file based storage media, servers and archives
• Understanding of current video formats, PAL, NTSC and High definition.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work effectively and reliable as part of the team.
• Enthusiasm, motivation and a proactive manner
• Must be able to catalogue media, complete reports and add metadata with 100% reliability.
• Ability to demonstrate initiative, flexibility, common sense and problem-solving skills as unexpected issues may arise regularly.
Seniority Required:
3 years in a TV production or Post Production environment
Professional Background Required:
• Relevant vocational qualifications.
• Experience of working in a commercial multi-client environment.
• Experience of handling file based media across SD and HD formats
