The Role
Assisting the Head of Corporate Communications in developing, implementing and maintaining external and internal Arabic language Regional Communication programs for the company and its Business Units.
Principal Accountabilities / Key Result Areas:
• Develops and maintains professional contact and working relationships with media professionals, locally, regionally and internationally, to facilitate and promote the dissemination of news and publicity about the company and its Business Units.
• Manages the production and dissemination of all external communications activities in collaboration with the Head of Corporate Communications, which includes speeches, press releases, press interviews and press conferences.
• Acts as first-line filter of any and all official communications intended for external audiences, whether generated by the company business units/ subsidiaries or any of the corporate support functions.
• Conceive, write, edit and review press releases/articles for publication in national, regional and international print media for the company and its Business Units in a journalistic style and on a broad range of topics including technical and policy related issues and matters.
• Manage incoming queries and prepare responses to questions posed by the media, individuals or other external parties to upper management of the company in coordination with internal departments.
• Research and identify media publication opportunities for the company and its Business Units
• Assist upper management of the company in researching and writing speeches and other oral communications delivered to internal and external audiences.
• Engage with the company Business units in defining communications risks/opportunities and ensuring consistency of messaging.
• Manage projects from inception to delivery and complete projects on time and within budget.
• Coordinate with 3rd party vendors and suppliers ensuring quality and timely delivery of 3rd party assignments.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Competencies:
Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or Communication with an emphasis on Marketing
Experience:
5 – 7 years of experience in communications
