This is a new street signage in Amman I think it’s the second phase of a project that the Municipality is integrating into the streets of Amman to make addresses easier to get, I blogged about the first phase couple of months ago, you can check it here.
The new signage system contains names of streets in addition to numbers of blocks/houses that were installed in the first phase, those numbers on buildings, in my opinion, are ugly, I hate the blue color, and it’s too large, but I noticed that they started to install smaller numbers with curved corners, I guess a little bit better but still I don’t like the color, unlike the new street signage, I like the green and to think about it, it’s the municipality’s color.

very old “english”
i sort of dig these signs. i am afraid in no time a few stupid drivers will run them over. nothing good lasts in jordan. one step forward, two steps back.
we’ve had one near my house in al weibdeh since october or november last year. I wondered why no one else talked about them only to find out they were no where to be found in Amman. Weird.
oh really, I just noticed them two days ago in west Amman.
oh dear, does this mean we may start using street names after all instead of jamb il masjed willa jamb il jam3a willa ma ba3raf shoo! this is revolutionary!
one would hope Farah
