The Role
•Provide expert support for various process engineering related competencies including simulation, optimization, cost estimation, energy management etc.
•Develop and execute projects based on process plants technical service requests.
•Proactively initiate innovative ideas for plant improvement and performance enhancement
•Participate in the process engineering phases of in-house chemical technology development projects
•Provide process engineering support to existing commercial petrochemical plants.
•Collect and analyze plant process data and make recommendations for improvements.
•Improve existing petrochemical production process and product performance in terms of output, quality, consistency and costs.
•Act as an expert in simulation techniques and should be able to model complete chemical plants using commercially available simulators (PRO II, AspenPlus etc.).
•Perform equipment sizing for cost estimation purposes.
•Introduce new tools, procedures and methodologies for process engineering functions.
•Formally document and communicate research findings and improvements.
Requirements
•5 to 10 years of experience in industrial research environment in a petrochemical company.
•At least 3 years of Chemical Process Simulation experience.
•Experience in cost estimation of chemical technology projects.
•Some experience in a petrochemical plant process engineering is desirable.
Qualifications
•Ph.D. or M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering.
•Strong skills in process simulation and process optimization.
•Knowledge of cost estimation software (Aspen Icarus etc.).
•English proficiency in verbal and written form.
•Have a performance improvement oriented mindset.
•Strong interpersonal & communication skills.
•Be capable to organize internal trainings, customer seminars and presentations at industry conferences.
