The position of Director of Sales and Marketing – Dubai, is a pivotal appointment in the future growth of the company in the Middle East region. Reporting to the Managing Director, the role is a senior position in the company, contributing to the overall leadership and direction of the company as it continues to hold a market leadership position.
A technically qualified engineer, preferably a Marine or Mechanical Engineer, with a good understanding of the ship repair business, the successful candidate with have full P&L responsibility for their area of operation, and be able to manage both technical and commercial activities in equal measure.
Planning, organising, communication and customer service skills will feature highly in their range of experiences, as will leadership of a dedicated business development team.
A good understanding of Quality Systems is required, and the ability to drive growth and profitability targets, whilst maintaining quality standards, is essential.
Fluency in English is essential, both written and oral, with other language skills being a distinct advantage.
Key Tasks
• Directing the daily activities of the sales team, supporting them in achieving their objectives for sales and profits, and continuously training, evaluating and monitoring their progress toward achieving the Company goals for market leadership, superior customer loyalty and return on investment.
• Responsible for ensuring that the Sales department conforms to the Company Quality System procedures as documented, developing sales plans and reporting sales performance to Management.
• Effectively communicate stated objectives to all departments regarding work in progress and resource demand.
• Draw up and implement Annual Sales and Marketing plans; assuring that the Company is aggressively seeking new customers and markets, achieving its full sales potential, and fulfilling its obligations under the terms of its sales and Service agreements for total Customer Satisfaction.
• Ensuring compliance with all local and international laws, Customer and Company safety directives.
• Assisting the MD with the implementation of the Annual Business Plan and expense budget for the sales department, realising the monthly sales and profit objectives and conducting the affairs of the department in a manner conducive to achieving its sales goals.
• Assuring that the Sales department regularly updates pricing lists used for quotes and is abreast with and using all available technologies in pursuit of its sales and profit objectives
• Assist the MD in the development and maintenance of relationships and alliances with Ship Owners, Industries etc that promotes the goodwill of the Company.
• Supporting the Quality Head in successfully resolving Customer Complaints and with implementation of the policies, procedures and processes necessary for superior customer satisfaction.
