The Senior Media Buyer works closely with the Media Buying Team on specific campaigns and deals directly with the client and supplier representatives for negotiating prices and space. They handle some of the many tools of Media Buying.
- Contact with Media Vendors
» Recommend, negotiate and schedule the media placements and creative elements appropriate to the client’s budget and objectives.
» Meet with media representatives and access media database to research available options for media placement.
» Negotiate with media vendors to obtain the best rates and most appropriate media spaces or time slots for broadcast and print advertising as specified in approved media plan.
» Buy negotiated media space, commercial time, or site placement.
» Monitor media agreements and contract with outside media vendors.
» Maintain excellent relationships with suppliers at all levels especially with traffic teams.
» Make sure that invoicing and payments are done on time.
» Follow up on media schedules and adjust based on audience response.
» Monitor discrepancies and negotiate credit or billing adjustments when necessary.
» Track expenditures to ensure compliance with budget.
» Manage and monitor the effectiveness of ongoing media buys against goals.
- Communication with Media Planner.
» Work closely and coordinate with media planner.
» Alert planners on all placements discrepancies and work out contingencies actions in case of need.
- Buying administration
» Keeping up to date with industry research figures, including distribution figures (newspapers and magazines) and audience figures (TV and radio).
» Responsible for accurate record keeping and reporting.
» Manage the budgets associated with media buys initiated.
» Source, evaluate and execute new media buying opportunities.
- Client’s satisfaction
» Liaise and build relationships with clients.
» Analyze the results of the media campaigns in order to optimize profitability.
» Report to client and prepare budget management, including the costing and producing spending updates throughout the campaign.

Desired Skills & Experience
University Degree in Business, Marketing or Advertising
3 – 5 years in media buying in a multinational agency
Excellent command in English – Arabic and French are an asset
