Sr. Media Relations Officer | UDC Qatar

Principal Accountabilities:
· Support the UDC Corporate Communications Team with coverage tracking, administrative tasks and media outreach.
· Assisting in communications efforts to external media (newspapers, magazines, broadcast outlets, advertising and public relations agencies), as well as internal marketing, sales, and other staff groups.
· Work with each member of the Communications Team and also with the public relations firm under contract by the department to insure that all media requests are fulfilled in a timely fashion.
· Providing important support to the Corporate Communications Manager and building the necessary foundation to develop and execute successful public relations programs.

Main Activities:
· Supervise and monitor coverage, including web coverage, clip tracking and distribution. Keep accurate and timely record keeping of upcoming/ pending coverage.
· Gather and manage data and information about new developments and news worthy items at all UDC departments and businesses, and coordinate with the contracted public relations firm into turning those items into news stories, features and releases.
· Evaluate and prepare materials for product mailings.
· Manage web-based database, including periodic updates and addition of new contacts. Tailor targets groups according to specific objectives and make sure media contact information is always accurate and ready for use.
· Spearhead editorial calendar process to ensure all opportunities are identified and pursued in a timely manner.
· Manage phone calls and email requests from the press and respond quickly to them with pertinent information. Maintain updated records of which corporate communications team member handles which products for internal and external contacts.
· Help keep UDC Corporate Communications Department up to date on all UDC business news (real estate, dredging, etc.) through competitive monitoring and identification of consumer market trends through research and observation.
· Achieve a clear understanding of all UDC titles and key message and learn to effectively communicate that information to the media in both written and verbal forms.
· Help coordinate and attend all press events; manage media attendance (RSVP and event check-in table).
· Manage UDC Nexus newsletters, in terms of designing, lay outing and printing.
· Participate in regular meetings including planning and brainstorming.
· Overall media events management, including Media events, Press Conferences, signing Ceremonies and Media related forums and briefings.
· Coordinate with mass media representatives directly for all UDC press releases.
· Perform other administrative duties as required.

Qualifications:
· BA (preferably in Public Relations, Communications or Journalism) or an AA, with 5 to 7 years related experience.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
· Good knowledge of real estate, trade and mass media outlets a plus
· Familiarity with Internet- navigation, effective searching, etc.
· Team player with can-do attitude
· Strong interpersonal skills, enthusiasm and flexibility required.
· Excellent English and Arabic communication skills
· Should have working knowledge of Windows, Excel & PowerPoint.
