The Role

A global advertising agency is recruiting a Strategic Planning Director to join their Doha team.

Primary Function:

  • To ensure that the agency produces the standard of creative product that adds maximum value to the brands the agency has been entrusted
  • To ensure incorporation of high calibre strategic thinking into the agency’s communication development process for highly effective creative output
  • To help make it easier for great ideas and work to be created on behalf of clients
  • To interpret, commission and re-formulate the data generated by clients and use this to fuel creativity
  • To work closely with the managing director, account management, creative teams and clients to uncover what the underlying problems are and to shape and inform novel and powerful solutions to them
  • To take responsibility for facilitating the brief and for the sale of the work to client

Key Responsibilities / Deliverables

  • To participate and have strategic involvement in new business pitches
  • To have in-house and client research advisor/consultancy role
  • To support client service teams and managing director with communication strategy development
  • To be a reliable source of information on market and consumer
  • To represent the “voice of the consumer” within the agency and as such, the planning director is responsible for ensuring that all creative work is consumer relevant
  • To understand the consumer’s relationship with brands and share this understanding through creative briefs and strategies with the account director/manager and creative teams
  • To act as brand custodian and to ensure that the brand-customer experience, is first understood and then managed, effectively, at every stage of the communication process
  • To use research as guidance in the strategy development process of a communication plan and to interpret research findings, translate them into advertising judgement and incorporate them into the advertising process

Requirements

With a minimum of 8 years industry experience, the successful candidate will be required to ensure that the agency produces the standard of creative product that adds maximum value to the brands the agency has been entrusted.
