Yet another funny top-ten-list from the Late Show with David Letterman, I wonder when people will stop turning every joke or criticism about a woman into an act of sexism, women should be equal to men, even in jokes! Maybe that joke wasn’t suitable for a teenager, but will the reaction be the same if it was about a boy instead of a girl?

Ya Jazarah, child-rape and incest seem to be the new frontier in crude humor and not just David Letterman.
How would it have been taken if Mahjoob had made a similar cartoon about the daughter of a Jordanian Parliamentary leader?
For me as a mother, a counselor of victims of sexual abuse, and a victim of statutory rape myself, this is no laughing matter, no matter whose daughter is the object. It is a sick, no-go boundary.
It’s all about the power differential between adults men and girls and the mis-use of innocence; gender equality is just not the same issue.
There has been an alarming increase in the sexual abuse of 13 year old boys by female teachers in the US. Female perverts are tried and jailed like male perverts. It would be an interesting study to see if these women watched boy-porn like male perps watch little girl porn.
I hope you will re-think your opinion.
(but I still think you are a great guy )
Thank you Kinzi, but the thing is, I’m not defending his joke, and not any other similar joke, what I’m saying is why do we tend to look at any joke or criticism of a woman as an act of sexism?
A while back I posted a couple of silly TV commercials for Zain where they feature an old couple and some how compare the woman to a mobile phone, some people complained about them for being sexist and a discrimination to women, believe me if it was the other way round, people would go hey smart advertising!
I can understand if people raged because of this joke because it’s inappropriate for a teenager, but frankly since they described it as sexism, then that’s just nonsense, if we want to progress, we need to get over our sensitivity… at least that’s my humble opinion.
