Dubai, UAE, 23rd January 2013 – Toshiba Gulf FZE today launches the Portégé Z30, a slim and featherlight Ultrabook™ designed for maximum business mobility. At 17.9mm and 1.2kg, the Portégé Z30 is one of the world’s lightest 13.3-inch laptops. It will be available in the market beginning January 2014.

Outstanding Performance and Mobility
Featuring the power-saving 4th Generation Intel® Core™ i7 VPro™ processor, the Portégé Z30 consistently delivers fast and energy-efficient performance. With an improved cooling technology, a high-performance Solid State Drive and Intel® Rapid Start Technology, it provides the speed required to take advantage of today’s latest applications.

“Our new Portégé model balances trendsetting style and precision engineering. Its powerful processor is combined with a complete set of full-size ports that are packed into a shock-absorbing device weighing only 1.2kg,” describes Santosh Varghese, General Manager, Toshiba Gulf Computer Systems Division. “Its intelligent design redefines performance, durability and portability,” he adds.

The Portégé Z30 can last up to twelve hours* on just a single charge, making it the ideal business companion for frequent travellers.

Amazing Visuals
Designed to fulfil both work and leisure requirements, the Portégé Z30 is equipped with essential multimedia features. Through a 13.3-inch diagonal display with a native resolution of 1366×768, the Portégé Z30 delivers stunning visuals in HD that can be enjoyed when viewing images, watching movies or multitasking. The screen with LED backlighting is non-reflective, providing maximum convenience for outdoor use and under varied lighting conditions.

Increased Usability
The Portégé Z30’s thin and light design does not at all compromise when it comes to features. For convenient navigation, a full-size, backlit keyboard makes typing easy in different lighting environments, while an Accupoint provides enhanced control and manageability. For connectivity, the Portégé Z30 is complete with ports for HDMI®, RGB, VGA and LAN, saving users the effort of bringing extra adapters when travelling. It also features three USB 3.0 ports and a slot for SD connections, allowing for quick backups and file transfers.

Innovative wireless features including Near-Field Communication and Intel® WiDi technologies are supported on the Portégé Z30, along with the latest versions of WiFi and Bluetooth®.

Enhanced Security
Through Toshiba EasyGuard® technology, the Portégé Z30 has both hardware and software security features. A magnesium chassis is complemented with a spill-resistant keyboard for external durability, while a fingerprint reader and the Trusted Platform Module work together to protect files and personal data from unauthorised access.
