Umniah brought Wimax to Jordan through launching Umax, a wireless internet connection solution that will let you connect to the internet wherever you are as long as Umniah is covering that place, prices are the same but if you take into consideration, having the ability to connect from anywhere is a very big advantage, the only problem is the coverage, as far as I know Umniah is still falling behind.
The problem with ADSL is Jordan Telecom monthly fees, which is almost equal to the fees of the ADSL itself; the 128K from Orange costs 12JD’s (plus 16% tax) in addition to 9JD’s (again plus 16% tax), and even now with Uminah, which is not part of JT network, prices are the same, I mean why don’t Umniah offer the 128K for only 12++?
Anyway I haven’t tried the service yet, but I hope it’s something good.
Below is the campaign created by AdPro Jordan, I didn’t get the meaning of “Once again from Umniah” since this is a new service.
I am a umax user for over a year, and I think that the service is getting better, but to make the best of the service in order not get disconected, I keep the modem on 24hrs a day, and recommended to use a router that keeps the modem connected too. And to try all places around the house to find the perfect location for the modem (where best coverage is) and this way you will keep connected all the time. The speed gets slower in the evening but in the early morning it scrambles and gets full download speed. my line is 512Kb/s and i get download speeds upto 60KB/sec!!!.
Also, Umniah are offering good bonuses with the service, last year I paid for 256Kb/s for a full year and they gave me a Linksys wireless-N router for free. Then this year I re-newed for 512Kb/s in April and paid for one year and I got 16months of service for 237JD!! including tax (with 10GB/Month download limit). I think their offers are very good. If you want to try Umax then subscribe for one month to try the service and see if your house is well covered then either you continue or terminate the service…

It seems that you work @ umniah. If it is the case, it is really nice to make promises for pissed off clients. It would have been even nicer if you launch a service after rigorous testing and not sniff clients money for low quality service. It’s like you were using us to test your network.!!! This is really a shame. But being in a 3rd world country with a greedy company like yours, we have to survive with such lousy practices every now and then.
As a last note, I pledge that I will never sign up with any service offered by umniah or any company affiliated by umniah.

i did subscribe the last week with this Uimax thing !!
to be honest , i made the first complaining 30 minutes later , i managed to get connected but it took me almost a minute to get the google home page !!
then a nice lady’s voice informed me that they will notify there technicians about this , few hours later Rami called , a very nice Wimax engineer , we discussed the issue for few minutes and thats were i told him that the issue seems with the signal , the signal seems to be unstable and i got disconnected every couple of minutes … i tried to go around the house , climbed all over to the 4th level but still dont get a stable signal , its 90% of the time below the recommended level … and thats when he told me that this could be solved by installing a n external modem “CPE” , this seemed to be good news but that bad news is that i need to wait four about 20 days to get it !! they have a very long waiting list !!
NOTE 1: i went trough all your notes , but i think the connection now is much better now , it seems Rasha’s promises are comming true . i think Umniah is working on solving this bad reputation it earned !! i really think that the connection is better now , i compared this with my X Orange 512/ADSL ,
Note 2: i didnt get the chance to check this Wimax connection for 100% , since i only have couple of minutes to set on my PC where the Wimax thing is working …
now , i really need your advise , should i go for the refund ?
should i wait for my turn to get the external CPE and try with this one ? if i do this , i will lose the option of refund of course ,
can the currently subscribers tell us what do they think now about the connection ,
for those who tried the external CPE , what do you think ?
Note 3 : its normal to see only pissed off guys here , if none of us have no issues with this WImax , none of us will be here , i mean no one will ever did the search , read the notes or even reply to it unless he is suffering from it , so its normal to see only pissed of guys here , there could be other guys that are happy with this service , they didnt do the search and didnt got this notes , so they didnt tell us how good this connection is,
Note 4 : dont think that i work with Umniah , its just i do really hate Orange and waisting my money to get connected !!
so lets give this guys anoter chance to correct their mistake
Note 5 : if the connection really still sucks , what a price reasonable 512 connection should i get ?

hi, i have the umax service and i subscriped to it last month first the coverage was so weak and they told me that with an external CPE it will become much better and after a week they came and installed it i have the 1 MB speed and it has been very good since i had it and the only problem that you can’t take it anywhere because it is installed on the roof of the house and along cable will hang from it to the house inside and thats it,bye
