Available in HD on Pay TV, IP TV and Multiple Digital Platforms, the New Channel Will Feature Many of the Most Beloved Movies from the Paramount Pictures Library

(NASDAQ: VIAB, VIA), one of the world’s leading entertainment companies, today announces that the world’s second PARAMOUNT CHANNEL will launch at 18:10 CEST this evening in France. The new channel will be broadcast in HD on pay TV CANAL+ platforms, NUMERICABLE and on IP TV platforms. PARAMOUNT CHANNEL will be available in high definition, with a full PC/mobile/tablet multi-screen simulcast experience, as well as a catch-up TV service for most of the programming schedule.

PARAMOUNT CHANNEL will present French audiences of all ages with movies exclusively from the rich, 100-year-old film library of Paramount Pictures. The channel’s day-to-day programming will bring together blockbusters, classics and some of the most award-winning and beloved films in the history of cinema across all different genres representing the Paramount Pictures’ library – action, family and children, comedy, award winners, crime and mystery, science fiction and fantasy, love and romance, horror and drama.

Throughout its first month, PARAMOUNT CHANNEL will celebrate the films of Hollywood legend Steven Spielberg, featuring blockbusters including Minority Report, A.I., The Terminal and Amistad, and will mark Friday 13 September with a horror programming special, airing classic trilogy Friday the 13th parts I, II and III.

PARAMOUNT CHANNEL in France will also air two locally produced magazine programmes: Le Buzz and Paramount Stories. Le Buzz will present French viewers with news from the film industry, the latest releases, rumors and backstage exclusives, while Paramount Stories will focus on the history of Paramount Studios, with anecdotes from some of the most iconic Paramount films and their stars. Insight into the history of the studio will be welcomed in France, where 85 percent of people recognize Paramount as the world’s leading movie company.

The PARAMOUNT CHANNEL smartphone application will accompany on air programming with a full TV schedule, video clips and web radio functionality for streaming soundtracks from the best Paramount movies. The PARAMOUNT CHANNEL app will be available for free download from iTunes and Google Play soon.

PARAMOUNT CHANNEL will be the fourth VIMN network airing in France, joining MTV, Nickelodeon and Game One and reinforcing the company’s commitment to provide entertainment content for a wide range of audiences. Viacom’s first PARAMOUNT CHANNEL launched in Spain in April 2012.
