Travel + Leisure magazine has issued the outcomes of a survey about the best touristic destinations in the world, results could be surprising for some people, as far as I know Prague is known to be the most beautiful city in Europe and yet it’s being beaten by Florance and Rome.

In the Middle East, Jerusalem came first followed by two Moroccan cities, Damascus and Beirut didn’t make into the top 10 list, and I was surprised to see Tunis coming after Amman, Tunisia is known to be among the top touristic countries in Arabia.

2- Buenos Aires
3- Cape Town
4- Sydney
5- Florence
6- Cuzco, Peru
7- Rome
8- New York
9- Istanbul
10- San Francisco

  • Amman?? weird
    thx for the share

  • Why is that weird, Amman is becoming a decent tourist destination of its own right, I had visitors from abroad recently and we spent most of our time in Amman and they had a very good time when a few years ago I would have had to take out of town almost everyday to keep them entertained.
Bangkok for example is not a typically pretty city in fact its quite ugly but it is very interesting with food, markets, clubs, parks, shopping, museums etc…. which makes it somewhere I would like to go again and again, but some other cities which are known to be beautiful are just that and no more such as Venice which is a one time only experience for me.
As for Beirut and Damascus, Amman is safer than Beirut and more modern than Damascus which makes it a more comfortable experiencV for the average tourist.

  • thanx Amjad.

Onzlo, where do you usually take visitors in Amman?

  • Yes…Amman is a much better place to visit then Beirut. It has a much better sightseeings, better restaurants, ski slopes, beach parties and definetly much better nightlife. Sure, we all agree.
