Cadbury is inviting its fans to rediscover the beaches of Britain and reimagine the perfect beach for the whole family, check out the Cadbury Icecreamland, but that’s not the best part, their latest jape was the Cadbury Flake 99 Challenge, where they asked the fans to eat a Cadbury Flake 99 ice cream upside-down on a rollercoaster at speeds of over 40mph, and then repeat the same feat going backwards, awesome!

I’m a big fan of LG for being so socially active with consumers, their facebook page has more than 4,500 fans so far, it’s a success for a brand in the Middle East! For now, they have a new competition, guess what’s in the jar and win, but you have to be fan of the page first, check it out!

Make football history with Snickers!

Did you know that the longest football matches in the official Guiness World Record stands at 33 hours and 36 minutes, 33 hours! Someone actually organized that match that almost lasted 2 days.

So now Snickers is inviting all football fans in the Middle East to break that number, well not all countries can participate, only residence of Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt and Morocco can participate, one winner from each country will be chosen.

Basically you register at MakeFootballHistory.com and you go through a group of questions that will qualify you to participate in the longest football match that will be held in Qatar on the 28th and 29th of May 2010. The competition is open till the 30th of April 2010.

LG: tag it to win it on facebook campaign in Jordan

With more than 700,000 users in Jordan, facebook isn’t a medium that you can miss, and it’s great to see more brands in the Middle East launching more social campaigns to target their audience in the region.

LG is running a tag it to win it campaign, where fans from Jordan are invited to tag themselves and their friends in LG pictures to win an LG Cookie 3G phone. So far the fan page has more than 2,000 members, the total generated tags exceeded 1,400 tag through 45 pictures in 2 weeks, that’s pretty amazing!

The campaign ends by end of today, so what are you waiting for? Fan the LG page and start the tag attack to win the phone!

Here is an interesting website that aims to promote Dubai, This is Dubai interviews people living in Dubai, giving them the chance to tell their stories, and express why do they love the emirate. I think it’s a really nice idea but I’m not sure what is the ultimate plan, the websites features video interviews but nothing else is presented.

And you, why don’t you share your story?

This is not a jersey is an interesting promotion that ran in New Zealand 2 years a go by Adidas, when I saw it in on eof the presentations last week at the Dubai Lynx, I decided to blog abut it, the idea was to excite fans of the All Blacks, New Zealand’s rugby team.

Basically fans can have their names on jerseys of the team using the nano technology, watch the clip below to have a better idea, and take a look as well here.

Express Yourself with Hugo

If you have been to the JBR Walk lately you must’ve noticed this promotion by Hugo, that giant fragrance bottle on the sidewalk where you can express yourself through writing stuff you have in mind.

The promotion aims to drive traffic to a new website where you can as well, express yourself, you can write messages and upload photos on the wall, and you will get an ID to see it, a good idea to send a message to someone in a different way, look for Wall ID 3009

This promotion is part of the global Hugo Create campaign where you can design your own bottle and could win some prizes. You can find my design below, and I looked for some entries from the region, and I found a cool one from Oman.

Media One Hotel launches a photo tagging competition on facebook

The Media One Hotel in Dubai Media City is running a cool facebook photo tagging competition, Facebook fan of the month, all you have to do is to create a photo album in your profile, add some photos of yourself in the hotel, tag them, describe them, and you could win a weekend in the hotel.

To participate you must be a friend on ‘MediaOne Gta’ group, a fan on ‘Media One Hotel fan page’ and to follow the hotel on Twitter, I guess this is a bit much, a friend on facebook should be enough.

Their facebook fan page has attracted more than 1,120 fans in less than 2 months, not bad for the Middle East, according to an independent research conducted by this site, there are more than 1.29 million facebook users in the UAE, which is 11.6% of the total number of facebook users in the MENA region according to the research.
