The Life Science group is one of the fastest growing departments in IIR Middle East. Consisting of 15 exhibitions, four magazines and over 50 conferences a year – it is a widely diversified department.
The exhibition and conference topics are varied and include Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, Veterinary, Laboratory, ENT, Medical Travel, Anti-Aging to name a few.
Our flagship event is Arab Health one of the world’s largest healthcare exhibitions. It is one of the most prestigious global events, attracting over 30 country pavilions and exhibitors from over 65 countries.
Job Purpose
•The timely production of industry relevant conference programmes in line with the needs of the market
•Develop and grow the Life Sciences departmental profile by generating new ideas and topics
•Manage the existing conference producers, including deadlines and content
Key Performance Indicators
•Programmes produced on time as per the congress timetable and drop schedule
•Provision of up to date and useable speaker lists/files for event management to follow up
•Tele-research programme content and new conference ideas
•Manage and keep within programme budget
•Provide a list of around 20 companies per conference for sponsorship sales
•On time performance of the department
•Delegate numbers attending events
Main Tasks & Responsibilities
•Produce industry relevant conference programmes
•Liaise with key professionals/institutions and companies in the production of conference programmes
•To contact suggested speakers and confirm their attendance
•Effectively research topics with relevant industry professionals and the target market
•Develop new ideas/plans for conferences
•Assist in the provision of leads to the sponsorship team
•Work with the director and other sales team members to produce ideas for conferences
•Identify key opinion leaders/institutions and companies within that area
•Maintain existing and build new relationships to pull together a conference with topics and speakers
•Organise hands on workshops alongside our events with companies
•Assist the marketing department in the relevant distribution of marketing materials (e.g. brochures) to companies and departments
•Write invitation letters for the conferences
•Liaise and network with speakers at the conferences
•Weekly meetings with team to monitor progress
•Report to GD progress, concerns and solutions to problems
•Management of teams with regard to conference scheduling
•Prepared to work longer than normal office hours
•Perform any other duties commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility
Background Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Essential
•Speaks and writes clearly and fluently in English to both individuals and groups
•Computer literate and proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel

•3 years minimum previous conference producing experience
