The position of Editor has the following responsibilities:

Define processes and tools which are to be applied to facilitate the incorporation and support of editorial content on newsletters or reports.

Review, assess, edit and proofread submitted materials to ensure relevance, accuracy, clarity, consistency, timeliness, and a balance to the content being presented.

Maintain contact with authors about the status of their submission and request their final approval (if needed) after ensuring that articles have been edited and finalised so as to be publicised.

Ensure maintenance of editorial writing quality and the monitoring of text, information and appearance for appropriate style.

Attend assigned meetings, committee meetings and conferences, as required.
Keep abreast of professional developments, new techniques and current issues, through continued education and professional growth.
Maintain good relationship with stakeholders.
Perform any other related activity.

Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in English or equivalent.

1 to 3 years of relevant experience.

Expertise skills and knowledge of Channelling, Editing and the preparation of speeches and presentations.

Skills and Qualifications: The desired candidate will have 3-4 years of Sports journalism experience, preferably in an online environment. Some additional qualifications include:
University education
Strong computer skills – the candidate should have the ability/capacity to learn how to help edit images, text and video
Arabic/English – the candidate will be required to monitor other Arabic AND English newspapers, websites and wire feeds for breaking news
Good communication skills – the candidate will be required to contact and coordinate article sourcing with correspondents and freelancers, as well as liaise with other Company’s business units. This candidate may also be required to serve as a representative of the site in interviews with other internal/external publications and programs.

Requirements
The desired candidate will be an experienced Sports journalist with a passion for all things football. Ideally, the candidate will be knowledgeable and interested in other sports as well, as the site will branch out in the coming months to include Formula 1, Cricket, Rugby, Tennis, Golf et al. The position will offer an experienced Sports journalist the opportunity to further his/her career by working as an integral member of one of the region’s most ambitious online sports ventures.
