Social Media fever hits MidEast’s Events Calender

Among the couple of the upcoming media and marketing events in the Middle East, here are 5 you should keep an eye on:

The Dubai Twestival is back and will take place between 8 pm – 11 pm on Saturday, September 12th 2009, at The Jam Jar in Dubai, UAE. It’s a very interesting event, you get to meet your fellow tweeps, people you have been following for months, or being followed by! Twestival is a global event taking place in 200 cities around the world, and aims to raise some fund and support to local charities.

The TED is coming to the Middle East with a one-day event that will be held on Saturday the 10th of October 2009 in Dubai, UAE. This event is pretty exciting with an agenda that focuses on technology, media, entertainment, culture, art and more, and I’m sure the TEDx, Dubai’s version is going to as good. Visit their website, register and fill all the required details in order to attend.

The Social Media Forum will be organized between 18 – 19 October 2009 in the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The event is organized by the leading event company IIR ME, and should tackle the importance on social media in the marketing & PR cycle. The exciting thing about this event is their keynote speaker Andrew Bleeker the New Media Director at President Obama Inaugural Committee and Director Internet Advertising, this gonna be very interesting!

GeekFest 2.0 Dubai is planned to be held on Thursday 22nd of October 2009 8 pm – 11:55 pm at the Shelter in Dubai, UAE. The event is opened for all geeks; bloggers, tweeps, facebookers, and anyone who thinks of the internet and the best place so socialize with others!

Harnessing the Power of Social Media Marketing is planned between December 6th – 9th, 2009 at the Grand Millennium Dubai, UAE. Although they are setting a bad example with their empty blog, but the even seems to be interesting, and i believe more details will be rolled out soon.
