Reports directly to Portal Manager
Gets approval of any content related issues especially the breaking news during the day from Editor in Chief
Assumes full responsibility of Alghad.jo content
Must be as skilled, aware and capable of all the night shift duties and tasks
Edits and filters all selected stories by night shift by checking and double checking to make sure they are mistake free, accurate and they follow the style guide.
Tastes news articles by going through all news captions coming from agencies to collect stories that fit the channel.
Must update the ticker every 5-15 minutes or according to any important news
Must stir and maintain the dynamics of the online content during each new day
Must monitor the relevant newspaper websites and their behaviour and provide a summary every 2 weeks
Initiates and contributes ideas for the purpose of upgrading and improving portal
Skills
Must have excellent computer skills
Excellent command in Arabic and preferably English
A BA in communications or related fields
Commitment to and awareness of journalistic ethics
Leadership skills
Fast learner
Ambitious with a dynamic vision
Minimum 6 months -1 year experience in related field
Ability to work under extreme pressure and within a team
Positive Attitude
Knowledge of local affairs
Sound news judgement
Honest and responsible for any mistake
Education
B.A. in Journalism
