Communication Officer | Medecins Sans Frontieres Abu Dhabi, UAE
The communication officer is in charge of implementing the communication strategy of MSF UAE: editing of communication contents, management of media contacts, coordination of translations in Arabic, fulfillment of the website, and organization of communication events.
Primary Objectives:
Under the supervision of, and in close and permanent interaction with the Communication manager, in close collaboration with MSF UAE concerned staff, and MSF sections (desks, communication departments):
• To actively participate to the preparation and implementation of the communication strategy and plan of action
• To implement the communication strategy with the Communication Manager, with support from other Communication department staff (translator, webmaster…) and Fundraising department staff (partnerships & events officer…)
• To edit communication contents to inform on MSF actions and disseminate MSF humanitarian principles, within the UAE and in the region at large
• To organize and fulfill MSF UAE website for all communication contents, to propose developments in order to increase traffic of internet users and support from individuals and partners.
• To actively participate in editing of supports related to fundraising activities and communication to donors, while ensuring relevance and quality of information released
Selection Criteria:
• University degree at masters level in the areas of communication/journalism, with strong interest for international relations, and/or political science, and/or humanitarian action.
• Relevant prior experience, MSF experience is an advantage.
• Perfectly fluent in oral/written English and Arabic, French is an advantage.
• Very good inter-personal skills
