Abu Dhabi Ports Company to sail around the world with PHD
News — By Samer Marzouq on October 15, 2010 at 10:13 amAbu Dhabi Ports Company (ADPC), the master developer and regulator of ports and industrial zones, has concluded its review of media planning and buying services with the appointment of PHD Abu Dhabi.
The appointment concludes an extensive pitching process that saw a wide range of agencies competing for the prestigious account.
The media review is part of a broader process initiated a few months ago, to establish a communications strategy that will help ADPC fulfil its goals as part of the Abu Dhabi 2030 strategic plan. ADPC’s ambitious plans will see the company be active across a number of countries and seek an audience in a range of business sectors.
“We’re putting all the pieces of our puzzle into place and have now made a crucial appointment to allow us to reach our intended audiences wherever they are in the most effective manner. We’re convinced that PHD has what it takes and more to ensure our goals are reached. This process has not only demonstrated the quality of their thinking process and technical abilities, but also their resourcefulness and level of passion for the task ahead. They set the bar very high,”
said Mr. Kevin Storey Senior Marketing Manager – Industrial Zones, ADPC.
PHD’s proposal was compelling in strategic and commercial terms and led to the appointment of a communications planning agency that has become very significant in Abu Dhabi in the last few years. PHD’s experience of the local market, combined with the robustness of its network, has clearly been a winning proposition for ADPC.
“The ambitions of Abu Dhabi are stunning and it’s fantastic to see PHD playing a significant role in concretizing the opportunities for the Emirate and the country to grow further,” commented Elie Khouri, CEO of Omnicom Media Group MENA, the holding group of PHD in the Middle East. “ADPC is working on several exciting plans, which will contribute in drawing attention to the UAE in general and Abu Dhabi in particular. This appointment is an impressive addition to PHD’s portfolio of landmark clients and brands in Abu Dhabi.”
“Winning an account like ADPC’s against such a robust field of competitors is a double reward for the hard work the team has put into this process and will keep on putting,” declared Fadi Chamat, general manager of PHD Abu Dhabi. “From the get-go, we knew it was a challenge we wanted to manage and, thanks to the energy of our team here and around the globe, we’re thrilled to now be able to help turn the vision into a reality. The ramifications of this account in the whole local economy are enormous so it’s a fantastic assignment with which we’re proud to be entrusted.”
