What’s with the Egyptian Arabic as a language on Wikipedia

Wikipedia is one of the best things about the internet, and of course it shows that we Arabs are falling behind, I mean there are less than 6 million people speak Finish and yet they have almost triple the Arabic articles on Wikipedia.

Anyway, I noticed a new language on Wikipedia, the Egyptian language; Arabic but in an Egyptian accent with 428 articles, but why? It’s not like the Arabic content on Wikipedia is mature enough to start contributing in different Arabic accents.

Sure Egyptian accent is cool and we all love it, but is it the right time to focus on it?

I can see this with the Simple English, cause English language is well covered on Wikipedia, so it’s reasonable, but I guess we should concentrate more on enriching the Arabic content on Wikipedia, which will enhance the Arabic content on the web, then it would be a good idea to start with different accents.

it’s a LANGUAGE? really?…no c’mon…REALLY…so much for the arabic nation dream ….hell i’m start my own accent wiki now.

*sigh*, and i agree thamood, so much for that dream… Its very stupid of them to start that page, i dont think its good, just because they happened to use a persian word that ALL THE ARABS use (ustaz, teacher) or a turkish word (Oda, room, i use it and im syrian, half the people in the middle east use it), doesnt make it another language? its probably some stupid bunch of people that are against arabs being together.
