Media Director | Muscat
Our client, a world leading blue chip communications agency, is urgently seeking a Media Director for their office in Oman. Having been in operation for more than 4 years in Oman, the agency has secured its position as the leading agency in the country and works with many international brands.
Based in Muscat and reporting the General Manager, you will be responsible for the development and management of the media department, to offer expert guidance and advice on media buying and planning strategy for agency key clients and to develop a strong base of direct media clients sufficient to warrant the establishment of a separate media buying unit. You will plan and buy cost effective media campaigns for all clients, build and maintain effective working relationships with media owners in Oman and the Gulf at large. You will assist in the pitching for new business, provide quantifiable return on the clients investment. Manage and recruit a media department, achieve market leadership in Oman for media buying agencies and introduce software based media planning and buying tools into the agency.
Requirements
As the successful candidate you will be degree educated and have a minimum of 8-10 years proven work experience with recognised media buying agencies, preferably within the GCC. You will need to have a working knowledge of all media channels including online media, have an entrepreneurial attitude and desire to build your own business. Be a creative thinker who likes to try new ideas. Possess excellent communication, presentation and organisation skills. Have the ability to work with a wide range of people, including clients, sales people and the team. You must be able to analyse research data to present for media planning. You will be flexible to working hours and the ability to be able to respond well whilst working under pressure.
