The Aeronautical Services Manager (ASM) reports to Manager Aeronautical Services & Air Traffic Management (MASATM) and is part of a team in the Aeronautical Services Department of Flight Operations Support. This role is the point of contact for all external Industry and ATC agencies to ensure that Emirates strategy to fully optimise flight routings is achieved including over flight permissions and optimum routes, as applicable.

The job is accountable for the provision of aeronautical information, either paper or electronic, Flight Planning & FMS Navigation databases, IATA and Air Traffic Control interface for routes & over flight permissions, airport evaluation and route selection for new operations.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:-

* Analyse, review, supply and maintain the Flight Planning and FMS Navigation databases to ensure consistency with chart contents in the crew Flight Bag & Company-generated guidance in the Route Manual. Liaise with the data suppliers, as appropriate, to ensure that fully optimised flight plans can be generated and flown for all current and future routes. Co-ordinate with other divisions on all data maintenance aspects to ensure a quality product for Flight Dispatch and Flight Crew.

* Provide assistance to Emirates Flight Training department for the documentation and FMS Navigation Databases, plus A380 OANS/BTV and legacy aircraft EFB / AMM for the simulators and training personnel.

* In conjunction with Finance, manage the ATC Navigation charges, including budgetary support and operational experience to ensure that route selection is the most cost effective with respect to airspace costs.

* Manage applications for over flight clearances, including seasonal and ad-hoc flights, so that permissions are received in a timely fashion and support Emirates route optimisation and to provide flexibility of choice.

* Provide support as required for special projects, such as the A380, Airport Compatibility, Hub Operations, etc. Provide necessary information and recommendations to MASATM.

* Supervise the input of changes to the Route Manual from Fleet, Flight Dispatch, and Out-Stations. Verify this with Source Documentation to accurately reflect current operational requirements whilst maintaining the AIR database. Assist MASATM in meeting production deadlines.
