Microsoft Entertainment and Devices Division (E&D) announced that its new Xbox 360 consoles have received an amazing response from shoppers as thousands throng its stand at the Gitex Shopper. Visitors are also being thoroughly entertained by the new Kinect for Xbox 360, Microsoft’s controller-free gaming and entertainment offering, also being showcased at the exhibition.

The following special deals are on offer exclusively at Gitex Shopper:
• Retailers are offering 30% off on select Xbox 360 games when purchased along with the consoles
• Consumers who pre-order their Kinect sensors and bundles will receive a limited edition Kinect branded 2GB USB wrist band
• Students purchasing any Xbox 360 console from the retailers will also receive the limited edition Kinect branded 2GB USB wrist band

“The Xbox 360 stand at Gitex Shopper is a haven for gaming fans as they will have the opportunity to experience first hand our most anticipated product to be launched in November this year – Kinect for Xbox 360. A series of highly anticipated Kinect titles such as “Kinect Adventures”; “Kinect Joy Ride”; “Kinect Sports”; “Dance Central”; “Your Shape” and “Kinectinamals” are also being showcased,” said Aman Sangar, Product Marketing Manager – Interactive Entertainment Business, Microsoft Gulf.

“This year has also been a phenomenal one for the Xbox 360 as we crossed a landmark milestone when global sales of Xbox 360 soared past the 40 million mark in April, making it the highest selling high definition gaming console ever. Looking at our remarkable line up of games, services and entertainment innovations, there has never been a better time to buy an Xbox 360,” added Sangar.

With a sleek new design, the new Xbox 360 250GB console includes built-in Wi-Fi N, 250GB hard drive, touch-sensitive buttons, a glossy black finish and is Kinect ready. The Xbox 360 4GB console boasts of the same features as the 250 GB console, except a lower memory capacity and a matte black finish.

Based around a webcam-style add-on peripheral for the Xbox 360 console, Kinect enables users to control and interact with the Xbox 360 without the need to touch a game controller through a natural user interface using gestures, spoken commands, or presented objects and images. Kinect for Xbox 360 will officially be launched in the United Arab Emirates on November 10, 2010 and is set to transform entertainment at home and open a new world of controller-free gaming.
