Regional Leader of Government Affairs | Carter Murray Saudi Arabia

A chemicals organisation is looking to hire a Government Affairs Manager for KSA, the main responsibility of which is to implement the Government Affairs strategy in support of the needs for the KSA region. You will support the building of a strong corporate profile by improving standing and relations with key governmental stakeholders, of which include various local, state, national (politicians and bureaucrats), along with other companies in the chemicals industry, industry associations, government policy makers and influencers at the central, state and local government levels. This team will prepare and execute stakeholder engagement plans for each area of the company’s operations and for new growth areas.

The role requires the strategic development and implementation of advocacy plans that target key issues and government challenges for the company. They will work with appropriate trade and industry associations, lobbyists, consultants and vendors to drive business and influence decisions impacting the business.

The Government Affairs Manager will work closely with the country General manager and other geographic leaders to ensure that the organisation’s interests are best represented and moved forward within governmental circles and will report to the MEA’s director of Public and Government Affairs. You will be an important member of the Region public and government Affairs function.

The ideal candidate will come from a government or corporate advocacy background, who has an excellent network of professionals from government and regulatory bodies across the entire Middle East and Africa region. You will be accommodating of nuances in language and cultural sensitivities and understand how to get business done from region to region. You will be an excellent reputation builder, as well as a strong relationship builder / networker, across a multitude of sectors.
You will have managed a team, be a soutions focused candidate and be able to be mobile throughout the region.
Arabic speaking / French is preferable, as is solid experience within the region, not just isolated to the UAE only.
