The Social Media Specialist manages the day to day activities of Social Media for the Airline. Working with the Manager E-marketing, the specialist defines programmes to use social media marketing techniques with the aim increase visibility, engagement, membership and traffic to Qatar Airways. A key role of the Specialist is to manage content on the Qatar Airways-operated channels (such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube) as well as monitor user generated content relevant to Qatar Airways in the social media space. The Specialist will also play a role as coordinator with other internal departments to channel conversations from social media to the relevant business units and customer service channels.
The role will also conceptualise and create social media marketing programmes to generate brand interaction, new subscribers, fans and followers, while being sensitive to the audience characteristics of each channel so as to provide a truly 5-star approach to communication.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a key part in managing the Social media activities for Qatar Airways and provide excellent customer service via all Social Media channels.
A successful candidate will need to demonstrate:
– University graduate with a Bachelors degree in Marketing, Journalism or Communications related field
– 10 years work experience in the field of Marketing, Journalism or Communications.
– 2+ years work experience driving Social Media tools and techniques into an organisation
– Experience in product marketing, press relations, advertising, sale and/or project management
– Experience in an online marketing agency or Social Media department of a B2C retailer
– Travel industry experience
– Persuasiveness and outstanding attention to detail
– Incredible personality, energy, and motivation
