ADK Presents: “Welcome to the World's Biggest Creative Department”
BANGKOK – 26 February 2014: ADFEST is pleased to announce that ADK will present a Speaker Session called, ‘Welcome to the World’s Biggest Creative Department’ at this year’s festival, which kicks off next week on 6th March 2014.
As the first major advertising agency to predict that crowdsourcing would become a major trend, ADK’s session will ask whether crowdsourcing platforms are foes, friends or frenemies to the industry, or whether they should be dismissed as a mere fad.
In 2011, ADK formed a strategic alliance with eYeka, one of the world’s leading crowdsourcing platforms with an online community of 270,000 people. Since then, ADK and eYeka have worked together to crowdsource a variety of highly effective campaigns for ADK’s clients.
As Senior Creative Director for ADK Tokyo, Toru Fujii will showcase some of the agency’s most informative case studies at ADFEST 2014, sharing the stage with Joël Céré, Global Insights & Innovation Director for eYeka Singapore; and Rob Sherlock, Creative Consultant.
“In recent years, crowdsourcing has emerged as a popular way of sourcing fresh ideas. But what are the implications for creative and media agencies?” asks Fujii.
Technology research company Gartner predicts that more than half of consumer goods manufacturers will receive 75% of their consumer innovation from crowdsourced solutions by 2017. Already, 72 of the world’s biggest brands are inviting consumers to co-create content and campaigns.
“ADK’s Speaker Session is a perfect fit for ADFEST given the theme of this year’s festival is, ‘Co-Create the Future’. ADK is a pioneer in the art of co-creation, particularly crowdsourcing, and ADFEST delegates will learn a lot from the lessons they’ve learned over the past few years,” says ADFEST President Jimmy Lam.
As Senior Creative Director at ADK, Fujii has collated a remarkable portfolio of ideas – his work created in the wake of the Japanese tsunami and earthquake (including “Rebuild Japan” for Takarajima Publishing and “Messages from Fukushima”) is highly awarded.
Céré is Global Director, Insights & Innovation, at eYeka. He also led global change management programs for Aegis, was lead brand strategist for Bates 141, and managed strategic planning for Grey Interactive in the United Kingdom.
Rob Sherlock is a Creative Consultant focused on transformation, collaboration and growth. As former Regional Creative Director of FCB Asia Pacific, he later became Chief Creative Officer of Draftfcb Chicago.
‘Welcome to the World’s Biggest Creative Department’ takes place on 6th March at 6:00pm. ADFEST 2014 takes place at the Royal Cliff Hotels Group in Pattaya, Thailand on 6th – 8th March.
