Apple briefs pitching advertising agencies through an iPod!
Marketing — By Samer Marzouq on August 10, 2008 at 1:17 amApple Middle East, represented by Arabian Business Machine, has invited 5 new advertising agencies to pitch for Apple’s ATL, BTL and media accounts. The pitching agencies are Tonic, Memac Ogilvy, Lowe MENA, Euro RSCG and BPG (Bates Pan Gulf), in addition to their current agency Intermarkets.
The cool thing is that agencies have been briefed through a video on an iPod Shuffle! Instead of papers and e-mails. The competing agencies should present their work by end of this month, wishing everyone good luck, but, personally, I can see Tonic winning the account, based on their advertising spirit, they are cool and smart, this is what Apple needs.
Here is an interesting campaign by Intermarkets Dubai.

they didn’t even contact JWT or Leo Burnett. How cheap is that?
I’m not sure, maybe they did but JWT and Leo Burnett apologized, not sure.
