Episode Descriptions
In each episode, Mike teams up with a local dealer, to complement his expertise.
EP 1 – India
With just $3000 in his pocket, Mike begins his adventure in India, including the purchase of a Hindustan Ambassador, which captures the spirit of the country. Built continuously for 70 years it still has a keen following, especially among Indian politicians. Based on the classic Morris Oxford, the new models are almost identical to the originals, and Mike believes getting one back to the UK will rev up a big profit.
EP 2 – UK
Mike travels to the UK for his next deal, setting his sights on a 4×4 Land Rover, a vehicle as British as Buckingham Palace. But the true worth lies in its dramatically varying value across the country, something Mike is all too familiar with in the auto industry. Buying one from a specialist auction in Herefordshire and re-selling in Scotland may net Mike a good return, but he’ll leave the final choice of model until the auction itself before setting his sights on an all-American classic: a 1967 El Camino.
EP 3 – Sweden
In Sweden, Mike quickly realizes that there is a big market for American cars. But can he make the leap from pickup truck to an iconic Volvo, and one step closer to his $30,000 goal?
EP 4 – Japan
Mike arrives in Japan and immediately realizes it’s all about ‘small is beautiful’ and identifies a Kei car. In Japan, car dealing is done in volume – it’s all about shifting the units digitally over cyber auctions. Mike faces his biggest challenge yet: not being able to deal face-to-face.
EP 5 – Mexico & US (California)
Mike heads out West to Mexico City, teaming up with a car dealer to learn how to trade like a local. His next target is a VW, but it looks like the road there will be a bumpy ride.
EP 6 – Middle East
In the season finale, Mike travels to the Middle East, hoping that his final trade will help him reach the motor jackpot: can he manage to buy a Porsche 911 at a Dubai car auction. It’s unclear whether he can reach his $30,000 goal to beat out his fierce competition in a crowded desert auction house. Will this Wheeler Dealer go big or just go home?
