Job Description

NPI is seeking an experienced editor for the luxury five-star visitor magazine, Concierge Abu Dhabi.

Spending a minimum of one day a week in the capital, but working from our head office in Dubai, the appointed editor will be responsible for managing all aspects of the magazine’s content and will also be required to contribute to Concierge Dubai. The editor will also play a role in the planning and preparation of the Russian, Chinese and Arabic editions, as well as other related products from time to time.

Some key responsibilities are listed below:

• Developing story ideas and unique angles for coverage in the four sections of the publication
• Maintaining and adapting working synopses for the year according to events and opportunities
• Writing articles independently
• Comprehensively briefing contributors – both in-house and external
• Briefing our internal photographer and sourcing images to support articles independently
• Being aware of commercial opportunities and highlighting them to sales/management
• Attending joint editorial/advertising meetings with sales representatives
• Being responsible for achievement of key milestones during the production cycle
• Attending regular weekly meetings with the editorial department, photography and design
• Regular interaction with all departments including sales
• Responsibility for production of the flatplan and visual flatplan reviews during the production cycle

Desired Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will not only be a skilled writer able to deliver clean and engaging copy on a variety of subjects spanning the magazine’s sections, but will also be a capable manager and organizer who can anticipate workload and plan additional resource where required – considering workload and the needs of the magazine. We are also seeking a well presented and skilled communicator who will serve as an ambassador for this luxury magazine, building and maintaining relationships and providing a face to the brand in Abu Dhabi.

At least two years experience in a senior editorial position is required. The usual computer literacy is required and knowledge of InDesign will be an advantage.
