Etisalat announced the launch of a new subscription package for BlackBerry Smartphone customers in a move aimed at giving them a more personalized package based on specific user needs and lifestyle.

Unveiled through an unconventional messaging “Generation Y Not”, the Unlimited Social package targets the growing youth segment, who require an affordable instant connect with their friends and want to be accessible 24×7, while on the move. The new Unlimited Social package from Etisalat will enable customers to access all their favorite social networking and instant messaging applications like BlackBerry Messenger, Facebook, MSN Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, Google Talk and Myspace.

“‘Generation Y Not’?, the young generation that believes in instant connect, is curious, experimental and optimistic. They find new technology and gadgets irresistible and crave for instant connectivity at an affordable cost. This rapidly growing consumer segment has a tight knit social circle with whom they need to stay connected in real time. The Blackberry Unlimited Social package from Etisalat has been designed for this young and social “Generation Y Not” segment, who will now be able to chat, update their Facebook status, be on MySpace, and connect through their social networking sites from almost anywhere with their BlackBerry Smartphone,” commented Khalifa Al Shamsi, Sr. VP, Marketing, Etisalat.

The Unlimited Social package does not have any limits in terms of data usage and is available for both prepaid and postpaid customers. Customers can subscribe to the package by sending a SMS “r bis49″ to 1010. Customers can also visit the Etisalat Business center or Etisalat Outlets and subscribe to the service.
“The launch of this new subscription package for our BlackBerry customers is our way of acknowledging the new reality of customer expectations when it comes to their Smartphones. The Unlimited Social package is tailored to fit in with the fast, informal opinion and thought exchange, at a very attractive price point. Email access and Internet browsing will however be excluded from the package.” added Mr. Al Shamsi.

The addition of this package brings the total number of subscription options for BlackBerry Smartphone users to four, with three of the packages being offered without any limits in terms of data usage.
